Day 01: Panic at the Cluster

It is 4:12 AM in the cluster. The weekend rush has kicked off and students are tearing their hair out over their case_swap.

The Bocal quietly installed a decibel sensor on the ceiling to monitor the noise levels across the rows of iMacs. Each line in your report corresponds to the recorded sound level (in dB) taken at regular intervals.

Part 1

Whenever the sound level surges sharply compared to the previous measurement, it is the unmistakable sign that a student just got a KO from the Moulinette.

Your goal is simple: count the number of times the sound level is strictly greater than the previous measurement. (The very first measurement does not count, as there is nothing before it to compare with).

Example

Take this decibel report:

199
200
208
210
200
207

In this example, the sound increased 4 times.
